WHO WE ARE:I have practiced law in New Brunswick and Ontario since 1970, and I am presently a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. I am fortunate to be located at the legal office of MOUNT LAW in Ottawa Ontario, where I continue to be committed to working diligently to preserve your assets and protect your family. Over the span of my career, I have gained valuable skills in a broad range of matters related to litigation, evidence, property, corporate and family law. This experience serves me in good stead in my specialization in estates and trust law as well as related corporate matters. I have also been appointed a Deputy Clerk of Probate for five years. I am presently a regular attendee of lectures provided by the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP CANADA). I have had extensive experience in administrative law, having served for many years in the capacity of a Mining Commissioner for New Brunswick, as well as served as an adjudicator and Chairman of various tribunals and board hearings. Because of a special knowledge in the areas of mental health and consent to capacity issues, I was appointed a Vice Chairman of the Mental Health Review Board in New Brunswick for a six year period. I was fortunate to act as a standing agent for the Federal Government on behalf of Revenue Canada, Canada Employment Commission, Department of Fisheries and Oceans, Consumer and Corporate Affairs, Canada Ports Corporation and the Attorney General of Canada. I was invited to serve as a member of the Advisory Committee to the Minister of Corporate Affairs for a four year period, and was a six year member of an advisory board reviewing legal publications submitted for publication to the Solicitors Law Journal and I also contributed to the Journal, publishing matters related principally to the law of evidence. I have also extensive experience providing the legal options related to commercial matters, including how to start a business, whether a sole proprietorship, partnership, or corporation. I have served on several corporate boards of private companies, and have extensive corporate experience through his active participation and leadership role in the Chambers of Commerce movement, having also served as a Board member to the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
